Salvatore Rubbino

About me:

Salvatore studied illustration at The Royal College of Art and in 2005 was short-listed for the Victoria and Albert Museum Illustration Awards for a series of paintings set in New York. This series was transformed into his first picture book, ‘A Walk in New York’, published to great acclaim. In 2011 Salvatore received a Booktrust Best New Illustrators Award. ‘Just Ducks!’, was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Medal 2013. Other recent titles include, – ‘Harry Miller’s Run’, written by David Almond, ‘Our Very Own Dog’ and ‘A Book of Feelings’, both written by Amanda McCardie. All published by Walker Books Ltd. Salvatore teaches teaches at Cambridge School of Art and at Southampton Solent University and regularly delivers art events at the Museum of London, Postal Museum and previously at the National Gallery.
